"Dedication & Perfection!" ☕️ | Thomas Tuchel visits a Tea Ceremony

A tour of Asia should not be without a little culture: We accompanied Thomas Tuchel at a traditional Asian tea ceremony and captured these quiet moments with our head coach. Enjoy the impressions of the ceremony!

  3. Really a great video which shows a lot more about the character Thomas Tuchel than the basic interview, we usually get to hear in sports context. Also a great way to show part of the Japanese culture. 👏👏

  4. Yes, he's a good coach but he should control his emotions better and not express frustration when one of his players misses a sitter – like when Pavard missed the header. Acting in this manner is bad for the morale of the team and alienates the coach from the players. And in any case it is his fault if players miss sitters frequently. The training is obviously lacking. Anyway, even the best scorers will miss sitters, and headers are unpredictable as to where they will end up.
Another point is that showing such negative expressions during the game means he thinks the players' function is to please him, to bring glory to him – to the Tuchel name – that that is their sole purpose. It is a very arrogant attitude that some managers have these days. A coach is a coach. He has some authority in the club but ultimately the players are not playing for the coach's benefit. They play for the club and for themselves. Adding cups to a coach's collection is the least of their considerations, and the coach should take note that he/she does not play one second of football during the game. A coach is a facilitator, a guide, an advisor. There is some leadership role as I have said, but that should not make the coach think he can become a megalomaniac. And the leadership will not be respected if the coach does not have good relations with the players.
Coaches like Mourinho and Conte who treat this sport like a game for personal accumulation of wealth and go from top team to top team to try and bring glory to themselves while behaving in an outrageous manner and belittling other people who have less power than them leave a bad example for others.
I hope the zen meditation atmosphere brings these insights to him.
