  1. Everton and Aberdeen in Scotland really were two powerhouses in Europe at this time. Both beat on a consistent basis top European sides. Everton probably more than any other team suffered the most due to the European ban, they would certainly have won a European trophy during those years with this side.

  2. gives me goosebumps…..i wasnt allowed to go because i had school in the morning….my mum never let me go with my dad to night games……i remember my dad staggering home drunk after the match and he said "thats it we have won it"…….beating bayern in the semi finals was really the final….he knew that rapid vienna or celtic wouldnt beat us in the final…..the greatest everton side i ever witnessed……sheedy was a god…..NSNO

  3. Remember walking to this game ,about 2 hours before kickoff . And thinking i need to get the fuck in here. I have never seen so many Blues fans around goodison . Was lucky to get in and witnessed the greatest game at the Old Lady . We will never see the likes of this Everton side again .

  4. I can’t believe that theirs only 20 comments below, remember that there was over 55 thousands people at this game me being one of them I was 13 years old and me and a lad called nelly who i new from school were in our element when we beat Bayern it got to be the best game of all.

  5. I was only 13 when I watched this game from inside the enclosure, the best match I’ve ever witnessed and then I went to Rotterdam for the final when we destroyed rapid Vienna, memories I’ll take to the grave with me.
